The Junior Auxiliary of Paragould was chartered in 1994 by several women in the community who wanted to help improve the quality of life for the children of Greene County. Since that time, the JA of Paragould has grown into an organization where members give hundreds of service hours per year toward children’s programs in Greene County. Pediatric Partners, Kidz Kraze, Car Seat Safety and Christmas Blessing are just a few community events that were started or assisted by members of JA of Paragould.
Catfish & Khakis is our signature fundraiser that helps provide financial assistance to our projects and helps fund our Santa Project where JA of Paragould provided assistance to school-aged children for needs such as glasses, dental work and scholarships for school trips. Scholarships are funded every year to graduating seniors in Greene County who exemplify community leadership and service. The JA of Paragould hopes to continue to grow this annual scholarship and to be an example of community service and show the importance of giving back to your community at a young age.
In 2003, JA of Paragould received its first national award from the National Association of Junior Auxiliaries. The project Book Buzz won the Martha Wise Award for best new project in a JA organization. In 2004, JA of Paragould won the same award for Fitness Frenzy. This type of national recognition proves the type of hard-working, caring women that represent the JA of Paragould. Browse the website to learn more about our programs and please contact any JA of Paragould member if you have any questions or would like to get involved. |
